Creation and Market: Contemporary Craftsmanship for International Collection

Served as the head of international relations for the Ateliers d’Art de France, and dedicated to resource docking and public relations for international craft institutions, as well as the coordination and organization of craft activities.

For over fifty years, Simone Pheulpin has devoted her imagination and expertise to the creation of exceptional textile works, inspired by nature without ever imitating it. Simone Pheulpin’s artistic career began in 1987 at the Biennale Internationale de la Tapisserie in Lausanne. International recognition came in the 2010s ; she was awarded the Grand Prix de la Création and a special mention from the jury of the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize. Her works have now been acquired by major international museums such as V&A Museum in London, the Chicago Art Institute and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

Renowned art historian, critic, and a leading figure in the theoretical research of Chinese design studies. He serves as the Dean of the Bauhaus Institute in the China Academy of Art. He has successively put forward influential perspectives such as "Chinese Arts and Crafts Aesthetics" "The Thought of Craftsmanship" "The Enlightenment of Design" and "The Democratic Value of Design", which have greatly impacted the academic community.

Member of China Artists Association, director of Lacquer Painting Art Committee of Shanghai Artists Association, professor of Shanghai Academy of Arts and Crafts, artist represented by DU MONTEIL (France) Gallery, currently living in Shanghai.

Florence Guillier Bernard, maison parisienne gallery’s director, has been representing the excellence of contemporary French craftsmanship since 2008. In Paris, she exhibits at the Chapelle expiatoire, the Musée des Arts décoratifs (MAD-Paris) and Artcurial for Simone Pheulpin monographic exhibitions. She offers French artists and craftsmen an international presence, participating in prestigious fairs in London, Dubai, Paris and New-York. A close collaboration with public and private institutions, combined with the support of each artist, has led to prestigious awards such as the Loewe Craft Prize, the organization of prestigious exhibitions like “Simone Pheulpin, Plieuse de temps” at MAD-Paris, and the inclusion of works in the collections of international institutions including the Chicago Art Institute, the V&A in London, MAD-Paris and the Mobilier national in France.
