Modern Cultural and Creative Industry: The Relationship between Industrialization and Handicraft

Wang Kezhen is an artist and curator. He is currently the director and associate professor of the Research Center of Contemporary Crafts of NUA at Nanjing University of the Arts, the Vice Chairman of the Designer Committee of China Jewelry and Jade Industry Association, and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Metal Arts Committee of China Arts and Crafts Association. As an artist, Wang has always sought innovation and change throughout his career of more than ten years, actively participating in exhibitions and events in China and abroad. His works have been collected by the British V&A Museum, the China Traditional Culture Museum, and art institutions in Denmark and the Netherlands.

Wu Di embarked on arts and crafts industry management in 2012. At the China Arts and Crafts Trade Corporation, he explored specialized services aligning with national strategies and market demands, forming an integrated service chain. He contributed to policy formulation and implemented major projects. In 2022, as the Palace Museum's Director of Cultural and Creative Department, he leads the forging of a sustainable industrial integration ecosystem. His efforts support diplomatic gifting, Olympic cultural promotion, and enriching the museum's diverse cultural and creative product offerings spanning environmental protection, sports, rural revitalization, technology, and the Chinese zodiac. British Egyptian, currently living in Cairo-Egypt. Fine Artist, Multidisciplinary Designer, Handicrafts Business Development Consultant. Graduated from Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo, exhibited in several art exhibitions, currently WCC- Africa President since 2024.

Julien Silvestre is Executive Director of the Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec (Quebec craft council). As an arts manager, he has held executive positions with leading Quebec arts organizations. He is a board member of numerous organisations on local, national and international scene, including the International Festival of Films on Art. Chair of the board of the national cultural workforce commitee, he regularly participates in artistic assessment committees and institutional discussions on art and culture in Québec, Canada, and abroad.

Master in Museums and Art Galleries Curatorship (United Kingdom) and Bachelor in Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation (Ecuador). She has been the Director of the Museum of Modern Art in Cuenca. While Coordinator of Culture and Education at the Municipality of Cuenca, she created various significant education projects related to heritage and arts. She has been Professor of Aesthetics, Artistic Research, and Cultural Management at the University of Cuenca, University of Education and Politécnica University. She is currently the Executive Director of the Inter-American Center of Crafts and Popular Arts (CIDAP) in Ecuador, institution founded by the Government and the Organization of American States in 1975.
